Chimi Dorji is a current serving Chief Executive Officer since April 2024. With a remarkable career spanning nearly 28 years in public service, his appointment to this leadership position follows an extensive and accomplished trajectory through Bhutan’s civil service, where he demonstrated expertise in audit, governance, and public administration.
Mr. Chimi began his professional journey in 1996, joining the Royal Civil Service Commission as a Senior Auditor through the competitive RCSC examination. He established a foundational 25-year career with the Royal Audit Authority (RAA), progressing through increasingly responsible positions from Senior Audit Officer to Assistant Auditor General and Deputy Auditor General. In November 2020, Mr. Chimi expanded his administrative experience through his appointment as Dzongdag of Zhemgang Dzongkhag, where he led district administration for one and a half years before returning to RAA as Executive Audit Specialist in 2022.

He then transitioned to the political arena, contesting the 4th Parliamentary Elections as a candidate for the Gangzur-Minjey Constituency of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).His commitment to public service extended to the international arena, where he served as Voting Member of the Audit and Finance Committee for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, representing as the voting member of the South East Asia Constituency for three years.
His academic credentials include a Master of Business (Advanced Accounting) from Queensland University of Technology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). His professional development has been enhanced through prestigious training programs including the Bhutan Executive Services Training at RIGSS, the Indian Accounts and Audit Service course (IAAS) and an International Auditors Fellowship at the Government Accountability Office in Washington D.C, USA.
